The one thing Tom has missed more than anything since we became full-time RVers is his big wood smoker. So since we’ve been traveling, we’ve been looking for a portable alternative to the big cast iron smokers. We needed a small smoker that could fit in the basement storage of our 31.5′ motorhome during travel, would be fairly light, and is portable and easy to set up. We also wanted a smoker that could cook a decent amount of food including a small brisket, a pork shoulder, a whole chicken or maybe even a small turkey.

Some of the other portable pellet grills we looked at would fit in our space and were easy to set up, but they seemed limited in their cooking space. Then we discovered the Davy Crockett Pellet Grill from Green Mountain Grills ( https://amzn.to/2SDHxeQ ). This 57 pound portable pellet grill checked all of our boxes so we decided to give it a try.

In this video, we unbox our new Davy Crockett pellet grill, show how easy it was to assemble, and cook our first meal on it. We think you’ll be seeing a lot more of this grill in our future cooking videos. Our first impression is that this is the perfect pellet grill for RVers and tailgaters. We wish we’d had a Davy Crockett back when we had NFL or college football season tickets!

As a huge bonus, this pellet grill can run off of AC or DC power, includes a temperature probe and communicates with our phone via its own wi-fi!

If you’d like to learn more about the Davy Crockett Grill or order one for yourself, we’ve added it to our Amazon storefront. We think we’re going to be able to do big things with this little pellet smoker! https://amzn.to/2RYtcrC
