****Update on smoke leak****
Weber customer service got together with their “R&D guy”, and test kitchen specialists to address this problem. They fired up a Summit in their test kitchen and got not only the same leak I did, but also found “many other leaks depending on how they adjusted the vents and direction of the kettle itself.”

Then in a stunning display of backwards logic, they determined since they were able to recreate “a lot of leaks,” it was NOT a problem but was instead “normal.” I tried to explain that being able to recreate a problem doesn’t make it “normal”, it makes it a “design flaw” but she kept insisting that since they had all saw it happen, it should not be considered a problem.

I have no words.
