This super easy and really delicious pellet grill recipe was a hit. I put my new Green Mountain Grill to work on some sirloin. This pellet grill helped me smoke, grill and reverse sear a beef tri tip alternative. Hushin inspired me to try this on my grill. I think it turned out great and I can’t wait to put this pellet grill to use again in the near future. When shopping for a new pellet grill, I was informed that it is possible to sear a steak on these grills with the correct tools. I was originally going to buy a second small grill for steaks and burgers, but I will give the Green Mountain Grill the first chance at those tasks.

Meat:
Beef Loin Top Sirloin Whole Cap (Cotco): 2-4 lbs – Trim off some of the fat

Rub: Makes enough for 2, 2lb cuts of meat. Applied heavy.
1 1/4 TBSP Paprika
1 TBSP Kosher Salt
1 TSP Garlic Powder
1/2 TSP Ground Pepper
1/2 TSP Onion Powder
1/2 TSP Cayenne Pepper
1/2 TSP Dried Oregano
1/2 TSP Dried Thyme

How I cooked it:
1. Applied the dry rub and let sit at room temp for about 60 minutes.
2. Smoked at about 165 degrees for the first 50-60 minutes.
3. Baked at 275 degrees until the internal temperature hit 115 degrees. (About 20-30 minutes)
4. Set my grill to 500 degrees and seared the first side until the temp hit about 125 degrees.
5. Flipped them over and seared until about 132 degrees.
6. Let them sit for about 10 minutes before I sliced and ate.
