This is a How To video on cleaning out a Pellet grill. In the Video I am cleaning my Pit Boss Austin XL Pellet grill.

1) I clean the grates with a wire brush ( https://amzn.to/2H5SDEj ). I like to use the Weber Wire Brush, it’s lasted me many years and still works great.
2) I remove the grates then clean the top of the heat shield before removing as well.
3) I use a shop vac to vacuum all the ash and gunk from the bottom of the grill, making sure to vacuum the inside of the pot.
4) I refill the fire Pot with Pellets before install the heat shield and grates back into the grill.
5) Total time of cleanup should take about 10 minutes. Don’t worry to much about removing all the oils that build up on the shield and lids, this helps season the grill and protects it from rusting over time. Enjoy
