One eighteen foot ash log and two balsam fir logs averaging 44 pounds are what I have to lift onto the gable ends of the log cabin sauna, working alone and with minimal tools and no heavy equipment. This is exactly why I did NOT install full length ridge beams and purlins on the main log cabin and why I don’t have a 6 foot overhang on the porch roof. It’s just too heavy and too dangerous to do by myself. Plus, I go about this the wrong way in a futile attempt to protect two adjacent trees.
