Ever tried to smoke with cheap store bought smoker?
Sick of baby sitting for stable cooking temperature?
The solution for that is more thermal mass..
So we found a Cheap way to make this luxury smoker out of a salvaged 120L Hot Water Tank and some 5 mm (approx 0.2 inch) hot rolled steel sheet.
The cost of these kind’s of smokers if bought new goes up to 2000$.
If you have some spare time and handy hands you can make a better one for practically nothing (we savaged all the materials but if you want to buy them it could set you back around 200$).
Be careful while using power tools, they are dangerous, be sure to be safe.

Tips and Tricks

The smoker is only supported by the base through gravity and is detachable for portability and transportation.

Painting
Before we painted we made sure to burn the paint thoroughly and scrub it well with a steel brush to knock off all the scale and wipe it down.
we have used high temp paint, we recommend you also doing so.

Fire Management
Off camera we made air inlet, vent and made a charcoal net to separate from ash.
