I UPDATED THIS VIDEO WITH ANOTHER, TO ANSWER SOME OF THE QUESTIONS.. THIS IS 1 OF 2 & NOW THERE IS A 2 OF 2..Here is the link to the second video { http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScqDENqDBC0 } Weld a Texas Style BBQ out of an old glass lined hot water heater, If the one of the three viewers that watch the video want me to do another video let me know? I am going to do one on a vertical H.W.H. smoker. Maybe when I get four viewers? :~ ) …. Next time from start to finish.. Thanks Again..! 5/29/13 Just an update, I apologize that it’s taken so long to get back, I found out I’m going to be a GRANDPA!! I’m so jazzed! as far as the door on the small tank,I came up about 6-1/2″ or 16.5cm & made a cut with the cutting wheel, across the cap & “in” to the flange part of cap about a 1/2″ or 1.3cm.for the airflow adjustment part of the door, i used some flat bar that i got, to fix my often horrid fit up! Anywho,I cut 4pcs approx 3″or 7.5cm.two of them i clamped & drilled a hole on one end {just eyeball it} cut another pcs1/2″ or 1.3cm & one more approx 10″or 25.5cm this one you want to make”sawtooth”notches, using your cutting wheel, make the notches up the bar about 7″ or 17.8cm now you want to drill a hole in the center, of the bar just above your last notch. use a bolt & nut & sandwich the 3 bar’s together {notched bar in the middle} then sandwich the small tab at the end of the other two bar”s at a 45° & weld! for the hinge i used a plain old door hinge, most of how any project turns out? is based on what you have around to use..? nothing Ive done, was conceived on the auto cad & it just spit out a cutting list.{that would be nice} I’m no dummy, but I’m not exactly the sharpest hammer in the tool box ether! This will test your patents! It would piss off the pope! don’t get in a hurry, if it starts testing you get away from it, take a breather.go back to it when its fun again! it’s a multitude of mistakes corrected! GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN WITH IT!
